Why these fact sheets

When ordering a corporate board game manufacturing, the final quality depends as much on the file provided A card with poorly prepared bleeds ends with a white borderline. A booklet with a non-multiple number of pages of 4 does not cling. A box with text too close to the cutting area is cut. These problems are 100% preventable if the file meets the manufacturer's specifications.

We have gathered here the 7 cards we usually give to our B2B customers and commercial game project promotersEach corresponds to a type of product (cards, cases, boxes, trays, booklets, flyers) and details the bleeds, the quiet area, the expected file format and the current traps. The values indicated correspond to our manufacturing lines across Europe (3 workshops: Brittany, Angoulême, Toulouse) with EN71 and ESAT certifications.

For each project, we also provide one template dedicated to the exact format These sheets are used as a general reference to understand the constraints ahead: request a quote 48h remains the fastest way to receive a custom template.

How to use these fact sheets

If it's yours first board game printing project, start with the general information sheetIt explains the three universal fundamentals (CMJN, 300 dpi, bleeds and quiet area) that apply to all media. Once these bases are acquired, go to the sheet corresponding to your type of product for detailed specifications.

Si vous avez already an experience in preparing printing files, go directly to the product sheet. Each sheet details the specific values (bleeds, text orientation, organization of files, common finishes) that may differ from generic standards.

If you are working on a complete set with multiple supports (cards + box + booklet for example), check each sheet concerned. The rules can vary from one holder to another: cards require 3 mm of bleeds, industrial boxes 5 mm, trays 20 mm on the front. Please note these values before launching the model to avoid back-up.

To go further: our complementary guides printing finishes (vernis, pelliculage, dorure, gaufrage), printing techniques (offset, digital, screen printing) and safety standards toy (EN71, EC, REACH) complete these sheets. For the overall strategy of a B2B game, see our guide bespoke corporate game.

Frequently Asked Questions about Print Files

How much money is lost to be provided depending on the product?

3 mm for cards, case, booklets and flyers. 5 mm for boxes in industrial manufacture. 20 mm for the front of the game boards, 5 mm for the back. See the product details for details and exceptions.

What file format to transmit?

PDF (version 1.4 or higher, ideally PDF/X-4) is the universal standard. Vectored fonts, 300 dpi embedded images, CMYK Coated Fogra mode 39. We also accept Illustrator (.ai) or InDesign (.indd) files on complex commands with special finishes.

Should the files be provided in CMYK or RGB?

CMYK with ICC Coated Fogra 39 profile, which is the European standard for offset printing on coated paper. The RGB is a light (screen) mode that contains colors that are impossible to reproduce with inks. Providing direct in CMYK avoids surprises when automatically converting.

What minimum resolution for images?

300 dpi at the actual print size. A 63 x 88 mm card must therefore be at least 744 x 1039 pixels. Vector illustrations (Illustrator) do not have this constraint and always print sharp regardless of the final size.

How long to receive the custom template?

48h after receiving the complete brief (format, quantity, desired finishes). We deliver an Illustrator or PDF template to the exact dimensions of the order, with bleeds, quiet area and folds indicated. Included in all our B2B orders without extra cost.

What average manufacturing time?

3 to 5 weeks depending on complexity, finishes and quantity, starting with BAT validation. For urgent orders (seminars, trade shows), we offer an express mode on certain formats. Specify your delay constraints in your brief.

What certifications on your products?

EN71 (European toy safety), EC (EU compulsory marking), REACH (chemical substances), PEFC or FSC on request (papers responsible). ESAT workshop partner, plant inks on the whole of the B2B range, 100% manufacture France distributed over 3 workshops (Bretagne, Angoulême, Toulouse).
